Clearly Screwed Up World

I know the whole world is suddenly (F-word) but for some reason I enjoy the act of breathing so I am coping as best as I can and I know that everyone else is too.

I have this awful affliction that can flare up at any time and become deadly — but my so called recovery is progressing well at the time being —-the chances of a recurrence are estimated by the egg-spurts as 1 in 4 or 1 in 6 —- or 25% of the victims are liable to have a recurrence within a few weeks or months of finishing the original treatments for the dread demon ……. so there is the fear factor …..but I am trying to be stoic …. and in my efforts to be stoic I become the standard variety of hypocrite …..so here I am, taking one breath at a time, one day at a time, hoping for the best but knowing full well that my age is against me — so…..well then …. I guess that is my little vent for the pity party — so i will move on to something else now.

Joke: The cop pulls the driver over, lights flashing, siren blaring.

The cop approaches the driver of the vehicle he has just pulled over. The driver of the vehicle rolls down his window and greets the cop.

The cop says to the driver, “Do you know why I pulled you over?”

The driver answers, “Why, have you forgotten already?”

Instant ticket.

Another dumb answer the driver might have given to the policeman: “Why, officer, did you see the blood dripping out of my trunk?”

I had to get that in there to lift the spirit of this depressing damned blog post. I hope you all got a kick out of the joke.

There is this “Thing” going on in Congress where a lot of Republicans and Democrats are all pissed off because some boat got blasted by our military and the boat was destroyed and there were two survivors and the military came around for a second run at the target to attack again and kill the two survivors. This happened somewhere in the Caribbean or near Venezuela as far as I can tell from what I am reading.

The latest news that I have heard about this incident is that neither the Secretary of War nor the President of the United States claims responsibility for ordering that everybody be killed during the attack….and that is the story that I am hearing, that “Somebody” ordered the attacking aircraft to kill everybody connected to the destroyed boat. The words, “War Crime” have been vocalized in various places and apparently nobody knows if anyone gave such an order to kill everybody or not. I find the whole thing passively interesting and that is why I am putting it on the blog here.

More news that I heard: I heard that the administration is tightening the requirements for SNAP benefits again; restrictions that some claim will cause maybe 4 more million Americans to lose their snap benefits altogether.

I also heard that the administration has refused disaster relief to the state of Michigan for some event or the other and that it concerns the electric companies up there and as a result of that refusal the electric companies have already told their consumers are going to have to cover the lost government assistance money and everybody seems to me to be scared shitless that their electric bills are going to skyrocket egregiously. I also heard that somehow, artificial intelligence is responsible for the already rising electric costs….and that it is going to get worse before it gets better…but I am thinking to myself, “Is that part of the price of making America great again?”

Like I have said countless times on this blog, “Why even worry about all this dark and foreboding crap because there isn’t a damned thing that any peon like “Average Joe” is ever going to do about it except to run off at the mouth. I get a big laugh whenever I hear some dumb assed voter throw up their hands and say, “I never voted for this!” I have to remind them, “You sure as hell did vote for this…and you knew what things were going to be like before you even voted because it was all laid out plainly on the campaign trail….asshole!”

Well, with that, I guess I am going to get ready for bed.

See you all tomorrow if the Lord is willing and if the creek don’t rise.

Keeping On Keepin’ On…

I just visited a whole shitload of other blogs, most of which have been whining and bitching and complaining about the state of The United States in today’s political reality and I have to say, “In all my 87 years on this earth, that is all I have heard people talking about, how damned bad the government is, how damned expensive it is to make a living or maintain a decent style of living, but when you stop and take a breath and apply a little brainpower, you will soon discover that, in relation to other people in this old world, Americans, even in their worst of time have it a whole damned lot better than everybody else and people should start counting their blessings instead of their mindless complaints.

I keep reading articles all over the Internet about “Your Favorite This or Your Favorite That” is about to get even more expensive. I don’t give a shit about why my favorite things are getting more expensive— I just want it all to stop so I can breathe a little bit.

HAPPENINGS FOR ANOTHER DAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2025
Another day and another dollar —-actually forget “Dollar” because compared to what it was as late as 2024, it is now only worth 97.1 cents of what it was then…….Inflation is a wonderful thing isn’t it? The more things cost to buy, the better the economy is … when people spend more, then sellers of stuff make more money ….and if that isn’t a great economy I don’t know what is. So what about the “Purchaser?” — The purchaser doesn’t count, has never counted and will never be counted except as someone to exploit, especially by the sellers of merchandise and services, so if you are looking for a break at your favorite retailer, forget it— all those so called “Coupon” savings you think you are saving money on are more than likely (In my most astute opinion) nothing but fractions of artificially-inflated price tags on store shelves to make you think you have saved something when, in most cases, in fact, you have paid even more than you once did before. — Merchandisers are clever at their hypnotic craft……. Yet, they are the “Backbone” of the American Economy, right? (If you think that is correct then just let the consuming masses go on a national boycott of something and you will soon see who the backbone of the economy really is.

Thanksgiving has come and gone yet once again and it was happy for Jimmy and I —-big dinner…..Americans love their big dinners for Thanksgiving, don’t they? Of course I overcooked the turkey but it did not get all dried out and tough so that was some kind of miracle….. yams, dressing (stuffing), banana pudding, gravy, potatoes, carrots, cranberry sauce made with whole cranberries— all the stuff that goes with such dinners and more…..more because Jim is a prodigious cook having spent years cooking at various commercial buffet style restaurants as well as at a big Kentucky university …….My focus on giving thanks this year was, of course, thanks that I have survived my cdif infection for as long as I have and as good as has been granted to me —- feeling much better —- do not know if it is my imagination or not, but I think I am feeling a lot better now….Of course the troubling thoughts do come and go, thoughts such as “Am I really ever going to get over all this so that I can live normally again? (This thing can take months and months to properly resolve after all.) But I am doing the best I can with what has been given to me and my attitude is more positive now than it has been for weeks and weeks.

so my big concern right now is the hope, wish and prayer that anyone and everyone who is reading here right now is blessed in all things beyond their wildest imaginations…..
