I am not ashamed

Romans 1:16 King James Version

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

A New Direction: Why I’m Trading the Temporary for the Eternal

For a long time, this space has been dedicated to the “here and now.” We’ve talked about daily hustles, social trends, and the endless cycle of worldly news. But lately, I’ve felt a persistent tug on my heart—a realization that while those things matter for a moment, they don’t offer a foundation that lasts.

Today, I’m turning a page. I’m shifting the focus of this blog from the temporary concerns of the world to the eternal truths of the Spirit.

Drawing a Line in the Sand

This change isn’t just a whim; it’s rooted in a conviction I can no longer keep to myself. I’ve found myself returning over and over to a specific declaration that has redefined my perspective:

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16, KJV)

In a world where it’s often easier to blend in or stay “neutral,” I’ve realized that being quiet about my faith was actually a form of being stuck. Paul’s words in Romans are a bold reminder that the Gospel isn’t just a set of nice ideas—it is a power. It is the only thing that offers true, transformative rescue to everyone, regardless of where they come from or what they’ve been through.

What This Means for Us

You might notice the tone here changing. While I’ll still share glimpses of my life, the “why” behind it will be different. Here is what you can expect moving forward:

  • Focus on Purpose: Exploring how faith shapes our daily decisions.
  • Biblical Reflection: Looking at the world through the lens of scripture rather than just the lens of social media.
  • Unapologetic Truth: Sharing the hope I’ve found in Christ without the fear of “what people might think.”

Join Me on the Journey

I know this shift might be a surprise to some, and that’s okay. My hope is that by being honest about my own spiritual journey, I can provide a space where we look for answers that go deeper than the surface. We spend so much energy on things that fade away; I want to spend mine on the “power of God” that changes lives forever.

I’m no longer interested in just keeping up with the world. I’m interested in the salvation and peace that comes from believing in something much greater.

  1. “That’s very kind of you to say, Pete. Even if spiritual topics aren’t your cup of tea, I’ve always valued our friendship and your support. Here’s to finding contentment in whatever forms it takes for each of us!”
